CMS4Schools, a leading Web site content management system for schools and school districts, has developed a new 'Building Use Tool.' The tool allows online booking of school facilities by teachers, staff or members of the public.
About the Building Use Tool
To use the 'Building Use Tool,' schools or school districts select a building coordinator. When a member of the public wants to submit an online request to use a school facility, the building coordinator will receive an email notifying them of the request. The building coordinator can then approve or deny the request. All requests, approvals and denials are tracked in an online database.
Facility reservations made through the Building Use Tool include date, start time, end time and location. A single event can include multiple facility requests. For example, a Forensics Coach reserving facilities for a forensics meet that takes place at three different school buildings can make the request with a single submission.
Each facility reservation also includes a notes field. In the case of a Forensics meet, a coach could add information specific to each building: Awards ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. Please meet in the ___________. The coach could then insert a different meeting location for each facility.
Approved submissions automatically appear in the school or school district calendar of events.
"Rather than handling facility reservations one way and events calendars another, we’ve combined that functionality into one location," said Jeremy Eisenga, Senior Web Based Programmer. "We've built this tool to make it more convenient for schools and school districts to manage their facility reservations."
The Building Use Tool is included in the CMS4Schools Interactive Web Bundle.
